WHAT FOR?
To generate fuel from MSW is a cost-effective alternative to fossil fuel, non-renewable energy sources. Biodrying is a sustainable technology which is relatively new, with just a couple of years of history. It is still very much a minority energy source, but its potential and sustainability are unlimited.
Covertech is the system patented by Masias Recycling and it is based on the principle of biodrying with forced ventilation, obtaining decomposition rates of organic matter by enabling the evaporation of water.

In addition, we carry this out through the full optimisation of our infrastructure and technology with an added value: space cost reduction.

The results we achieve with Covertech represent an increase of up to 70% capacity for increased generation of calorific power for industries such as the cement or thermal energy industries.
HOW?
The Masias CoverTech technological biodrying process is based on the principle of decomposition of organic matter. In this way we are able to achieve a temperature increase, thereby accelerating the drying process.
In this process, the heat produced by the decomposition of organic components is used to reduce the water contained in the residue. The multilayer membrane of the Covertech canvases allows the evaporation of water through its pores, but does not let odoriferous particles exit.
Weather conditions have a minimal impact on the process because of the semi-permeable characteristic of the canvas, which enables the exit of humidity and prevents the entry of rainwater, enabling installation in trenches in outdoor locations.

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?
Beginning of the process: during this stage, the temperature of the material increases due to organic decomposition until it reaches the desired temperature.
Biodrying: the internal heat produced by the decomposition of the organic material is used to facilitate the removing of humidity from the material.
Completion of the process: when we obtain the desired humidity, we proceed to open the canvas and empty the trench.
